Turmeric Lemonade
TURMERIC- THE GOLDEN DRINK
At LC we are orthodox in some of our ways and still prefer to consume this in an old fashioned way - a refreshing iced, minty lemonade with a splash of apple cider vinegar.
We like to call it as the Golden drink- less for its yellow pigment and more for its golden benefits. Here is the recipe to make one.
FRESH TURMERIC LEMONADE
Preparation Time: 5 minsWaiting Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 15 mins
Makes: 2 servings
INGREDIENTS:
1” fresh turmeric, grated or 1/4th tsp turmeric powder
2 cups of water
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
4 ice cubes
1 sprig of mint leaves
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Take water in any glass container and add the grated turmeric and leave it for 5 minutes to infuse the turmeric into the water.
If you have a tea leaf infuser spoon; it saves a step from straining the grated turmeric later.

Step 3: Divide the drink into two serving glasses and add 2 ice cubes into each glass.
√ Honey can be used as a sweetener.
√ Himalayan salt with a pinch of pepper does magic to this drink. Try it!
Notes :
1) Please wear kitchen gloves if using fresh root turmeric-It stains the surfaces heavily.
2) This drink can be easily brewed into a steamy, herby tea and enjoyed as a soothing warm cup on a cold day.
